Note: Registration for 2021 ICADplay and ICADextras is now closed. Also!? The Creative Nudge will spark your creativity! There are 2 index card tutorial packs (each with 6 beginner-level creative projects on index cards): the ExplorePack and the AdventurePack. The two latest ICAD-focused zines are The Simple Beauty of Small Format Art and ICAD Creative Boost. The Daisy Yellow Zine is a digital magazine that you can download instantly. Some ICADians have cleverly melded them together! So for example, there is a week dedicated to maps! Disclaimer: It is fairly difficult to use BOTH the prompts & the themes, because they are not scientifically designed to work seamlessly. This is an alternate ICAD track for anyone wishing to explore/be guided by a list of techniques, mediums, materials, types of art-making. Look them up in the dictionary, brainstorm connotations, think of related words, translate into another language, find lyrics or song titles, add a prefix/suffix. Hints: You’ll get the list of prompts in advance each week so that you can let ideas percolate. So if you are working on ICAD # 7, you can interpret ICAD PROMPT # 7 as a starting point or skip the prompt and go “off-prompt.” Prompts definitely don’t need to be interpreted literally! Try playfully, dramatically, mysteriously, botanically, figuratively, ridiculously, inversely, whatever.
